Kano Collection
This book collection was previously owned by Kokichi Kano (1865-1942), a doctor of literature from Odate City, Akita Prefecture. It is a large collection of approximately 108,000 books, containing materials from a wide range of fields, mainly composed of Japanese and Chinese classics. It is also known as "Encyclopedia of Classics" or "Treasure House of Edo Studies".
Wasan Collection
This is a large collection of over 18,000 books related to Wasan. In addition to a comprehensive collection of major Japanese arithmetic books, the collection also includes many original works and manuscripts by provincial arithmeticians, as well as many materials related to astronomy, calendar calculation and measurement.

Soseki Collection
This collection consists of the literary legend Soseki Natsume's (1867-1916) former collection of books, handwritten materials such as his diary, notebooks, examination questions, and manuscripts, as well as other materials related to Soseki. This collection includes most of Soseki's former collection, including approximately 1,650 Foreign books and 1,200 Japanese and Chinese books.
Akita Family's Documents
A collection of ancient documents and artifacts owned by the Akita family, lords of the former Miharu domain. Most of the ancient documents are from the early modern period, and consist of draft poems and portraits showing the private side of the feudal lords' families, and Naisho (unofficial letters that were given out by shoguns), regulations, and memoranda showing the public side.

Some of the classical materials held by the Tohoku University Main Library are available as digital images.

Great East Japan Earthquake Collection
Available to search and browse for academic literature, leaflets, pamphlets, etc. related to the Great East Japan Earthquake that are licensed to be published on the website. Contains books, photos, and some records of past earthquakes and tsunamis.
